Eco-mapping is a simple, practical tool for identifying the environmental impacts of your facility, workshop, or office and improving your environmental performance. The method is based on an on-site tour, during which we use the eco-mapping method to identify opportunities for savings and potential areas for improvement. This is supplemented by a group brainstorming session with employees from various departments of the company, as well as a review of the documents and data necessary for the assessment.
We recommend this method to any business that wants to understand the environmental impacts of its operations and seeks to mitigate them.
Eco-mapping can serve as the foundation for an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 or EMAS. It can also be used for an initial baseline assessment, to identify environmental performance targets, or even as a method for internal audits. The KÖVET Program for Identifying Environmental Savings and the Green Office Program are also based on eco-mapping. Your company’s employees also actively participate in the program (in the assessment, implementation, and identification of savings), which results in them becoming significantly more environmentally conscious than they were before.
The result of the assessment is an environmental action plan tailored to your business, including measures, deadlines, responsible parties, and potential savings.
