Focus on the Current Challenges Facing the Environmental Industry
Environmental challenges are becoming increasingly complex, and there is a growing need for innovative technologies, professional collaboration, and knowledge sharing to address them effectively. This October, the HUNGEXPO Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center will once again host the ENVIRONTEC powered by ÖKOINDUSTRIA trade show, which brings together players from the Hungarian and Central European environmental industry.
Free professional visitor registration for the 2026 event is now available. The trade show offers an opportunity to learn about new technologies and solutions, build professional and business relationships, and gain first-hand insight into the sector’s development trends.

The event’s main patron is László Gajdos, Minister for the Living Environment, whose support underscores the importance of current issues in environmental protection and sustainable development.
Environmental Industry Solutions in Practice
ENVIRONTEC focuses on numerous topics that are crucial for the environmental industry and sustainable economic operations. Key areas will include, among others, industrial emissions and air quality protection, water conservation and climate adaptation, the circular economy, waste management, green energy, and digitalization.
In addition to the current challenges facing industry and local governments, these themes also reflect changes in the European regulatory environment, such as increasingly stringent requirements regarding industrial emissions and ESG.
The Czech Republic is the exhibition’s official guest country, and its companies are participating in the event under the coordination of CzechTrade. This international presence also creates opportunities to establish new professional and business connections, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises in the environmental sector. In addition to Czech and Hungarian companies, nine other countries will be represented at the trade show.
Conferences and Professional Programs
The conferences and professional events accompanying the exhibition will address current issues in the sector. The exhibition’s co-organizer, the Association of Environmental Service Providers and Manufacturers, will focus on topics including industrial emissions, the future of waste management, remediation, and the development of brownfield sites. The Hungarian Water and Wastewater Technology Association focuses on water-conscious responses to climate change; in addition, a workshop titled “Water Sector Partnerships and Collaborations in the Carpathian Basin and Beyond” will explore opportunities for water-related cooperation and partnerships in the region.
HEPA, the Hungarian Export Development Agency, is facilitating the establishment of cross-border business relationships through an international business meeting.

From Meetings to Collaborations
The goal of ENVIRONTEC powered by ÖKOINDUSTRIA goes beyond simply showcasing technologies. It offers a platform where professional dialogue can lead to new connections and concrete collaborations. This is particularly important at a time when environmental and economic challenges increasingly require joint responses that combine the knowledge and experience of multiple disciplines.
ENVIRONTEC powered by ÖKOINDUSTRIA once again welcomes professionals, businesses, and institutional representatives from the environmental industry to Budapest in October—to discover new solutions, build relationships, and shape the future of the environmental industry together.
