From April 2020 to December 2023, the Erasmus+ Build Green adult education project was implemented by KÖVET Association in Hungary. The project, launched in partnership between Hungary, Greece and Spain, focuses on climate change and energy and resource conservation. To this end, we are exploring how to build sustainable spaces that save energy and resources while ensuring long-term energy efficiency.
The partners aim to create sustainable spaces that are widely accessible.
We are working on six thematic areas:
- Use of recycled materials,
- passive houses (which reduce the amount of energy used for heating and cooling,
- ecological waste water systems (which reduce the need for irrigation and fertiliser use, while creating a diverse ecosystem),
- green walls (to help with insulation),
- rooftop gardens (also play a role in insulation and allow food production),
- indoor agriculture (increases growing space, reduces the need for packaging and transport by growing locally)
The above good practices also reduce energy and resource use during construction and maintenance.
The international consortium of the Build Green project believes that the above themes will open up opportunities for participants to become part of the circular economy in practice. The project will be implemented in Spain, Hungary and Greece. KÖVET Association is working on the topics of roof gardens, green walls, indoor agriculture. Our tasks include collecting good practices, sharing and promoting knowledge, presenting and disseminating results and methods. Our partner for indoor agriculture is Dr. Barnabás Kovács, an expert from MATE Keszthely.
