Fit for REACH-2 expands: Hungary joins the fight for safer chemicals management

The LIFE Fit for REACH-2 (FFR-2) project, which aims to improve chemical risk management (CRM) and sustainable practices in businesses, is expanding beyond the Baltic region. With the idea of replicating the success of Baltic companies in other countries, the initiative is now expanding to Central and Eastern Europe. Poland has joined the project consortium and Hungary will be the first target country for replication efforts.

KÖVET Association is the Hungarian participant in the project, which will run from 2024-2027.

In the framework of the FFR-2 project KÖVET will carry out the following activities to support Hungarian companies:

Information days.
Consultancy services: we will actively work with at least 5-10 companies, helping them to identify chemical problems, prepare inventories and implement manageable CRM solutions.
Training: we will organise three to five training sessions for companies and associations, with 15-25 participants, to provide practical guidance on CRM implementation.

This expansion will take advantage of the common historical and economic context of the Central and Eastern European countries. The similarity of challenges and opportunities will enhance the transferability of CRM practices developed under the Fit for REACH project.
