Project Code: SM06-GEO-PC12
The KÖVET Association is the technical partner for the project titled Development of the Szentlőrinc Geothermal District Heating System. Project duration: 2025–2026.
The project is funded by the Swiss Fund.
Project objective: To connect five institutions operated by the municipality in the town of Szentlőrinc—the Community Center, two municipal buildings, the Senior Citizens’ Home, and the Elementary School—to the geothermal district heating network. By achieving this goal, the town aims to take steps toward sustainability and address the challenges posed by climate change.
The role of the KÖVET Association in the project:
Conducting awareness-raising programs for various target groups: Our goal is to familiarize the involved target groups—the leaders, staff, and partners of the public institutions affected by the investment—with the basic principles, tools, and opportunities for operating sustainable, environmentally and people-friendly offices and institutions.
Green Office Program and Certification: Implementation of Green Office Education, Program, and Certification at public institutions involved in the project. Conducting a questionnaire-based survey on the topic among employees of the affected institutions.

Raising awareness among local companies and helping them achieve their sustainability goals: Through awareness-raising presentations, events, sustainability and ESG training sessions, film screenings, and roundtable discussions.
Calculating individual ecological footprints using the KÖVET Association’s calculator: Presenting the ecological footprint calculator available on the KÖVET Association’s website, performing calculations with the calculator, answering questions, and sharing experiences on the topic to raise awareness.
