Corporate Climate Adaptation
What are the main risks posed by climate change in our country? To what extent do these risks affect the business sector, the future of companies, and their day-to-day operations? Which industries, processes, and activities are most affected? Should we view climate risks as challenges or opportunities? Can the climate crisis serve as a catalyst and help drive change? Are Hungarian companies aware of these climate risks and prepared to manage them? What does climate adaptation mean, and how can a corporate climate adaptation strategy be developed? Are there best practices or companies that effectively manage climate risks and share their experiences?
The KÖVET Association, with support from the Ministry of Agriculture’s Green Source program, is launching a Corporate Climate Adaptation program aimed at drawing attention to the topic and working with Hungarian companies and experts to find answers to the questions above.
As the first step of the program, we held a conference on this topic on November 9, 2017, as a side event of Ökoindustria. At the same time, we are conducting a survey on awareness of the topic and corporate practices, which you can participate in by filling out the Corporate Climate Adaptation Questionnaire. On February 9, 2018, we held an environmental workshop on this topic, where we began compiling a list of climate risks affecting companies; this work will continue in May with the next workshop.
Climate change affects both the day-to-day operations and the future of companies and businesses. Let’s recognize the phenomena and the interconnections, identify the climate risks affecting our organizations, and prepare to prevent or at least mitigate the impacts.
Fill out the questionnaire, attend the environmental workshop, and join the Corporate Climate Adaptation Project!
