We’re looking for champions of successful environmental and economic savings!
Has your organization implemented an environmental measure in the past 5 years that has also yielded economic benefits? Join our program, showcase your initiative, and win one of our awards!

As part of the “Money Thrown Through the Window” (ABP) Program, the KÖVET Association collects measures, projects, and investments that are beneficial from both environmental and economic perspectives. Through case studies, it demonstrates that spending on environmental protection is not money thrown out the window, but can yield a financial return and provide economic benefits and advantages to environmentally conscious businesses and organizations.
Participating organizations present their measures successfully implemented in recent years—including their payback periods and environmental savings—in two-page case studies. The case studies are published in the “Money Thrown Through the Window” series and in our online database. KÖVET experts audit the measures on-site, and an independent panel of experts then decides who will receive the Environmental Savings Awards.

Measures from Previous Years in Numbers – ABP Program (2002–2023)
Our association launched the “Money Thrown Through the Window” program in 2002, with the goal of demonstrating that environmental and economic considerations can go hand in hand. In 2023, we announced the call for entries for the 14th time and presented the Environmental Savings Awards for the year.
We’ll cover the awards ceremony in our event reports.
Here are the aggregate figures from the 14 editions: 557 measures from 108 organizations, 886.5 GWh in electricity savings, nearly 20.83 million m³ in water savings, 569,835 metric tons in CO₂ savings, and a total return of 59.39 billion HUF for the organizations.
